The U.S. Can't Do It Alone
Despite past and current efforts made by the United States to end child soldiers, their influence hasn't been significant enough to bring any drastic halt as the bills, acts, and enforcements passed and imposed by U.S. legislation simply haven't been enough for them to see a clear end in sight. Meanwhile, other big countries such as Germany, Spain, England, and France continue to overlook this issue despite the fact they all have orders/laws in place to deal with countries that use child soldiers.
For example in England, they have continued to sell weapons to countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, Somalia, and Thailand where child soldiers are being used knowingly. Between just these 4 countries alone, England has made over £150m (roughly $200 million in USD) in the export of weapons and other military technology between 2010-2015 alone.

Support From The United Nations
The United States can’t solve the problem of child soldiers alone. They need help from other major countries if they really want to force the use of child soldiers to end. That's why they need to seek support from the United Nations. The United Nations is an international organization of countries set up to promote peace, security, and cooperation. In terms of their guidelines for protecting children worldwide, they carry out a large range of work:
- Deployment of Child Protection Advisers
- Mainstreaming child protection within the mission
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Negotiating with armed groups
- Advocacy
- Capacity building
- Legal Reform
- Awareness Raising
- Training
